As a natural progression from DJ-ing as a hobby, I’ve also dabbled in producing my own music. I had tinkered around on music programs like FruityLoops and Acid since their onset, making loops to mix into my DJ sets. After eventually scoring a few indie short films, including TALK TO TAKA (featuring the late, great Pat Morita), I got bitten by the music bug and decided to attend SAE (School of Audio Engineering) to get serious about learning audio production. Below are a few sample music projects that I have posted onto Bandcamp, under the moniker "ONESUN”.

Project #1. Better in the Morning EP

Most songs from the 80’s are ballads about love and heartbreak. True to fashion to the artists I grew up listening to, namely: Depeche Mode, New Order, Erasure and the likes, I wrote a few synthpop tracks as an ode to my favorite era - part-fiction, part-confessional.

Project #2. Hits from the Sim Soo Bong REMIXES

Sim Soo Bong is one of the most well loved and yet also most tragic lounge folk singers in South Korean history, known for a particular style of music called “trot” that originated in Korea during its Japanese colonial rule. She witnessed firsthand the controversial assassination of Korea’s third president, Park Chung-hee, in 1979, during the night of her private performance for the former military dictator. I remixed some of my favorite tracks in a manner that I feel portray her music’s melancholic mood, heavily sampling her immaculate voice and accompanying with electronic hiphop beats.
